People Without Hope
As a doctor without borders, I have witnessed a great deal of suffering, often accompanied by hopelessness and death.
What is the purpose of our lives, what keeps us going? Not everything that is written can be immediately understood and believed by humans. We usually believe what we want to and what others intentionally instill in us. The continent of Africa, where shamans are more important and accessible than doctors. Where mysticism and magic triumph over our modern medicine. It is actually a journey through time. You find yourself 500 years in the past. Do you know how African women give birth? How they raise their children? What diseases they suffer from and how they most commonly die? The average life expectancy in Africa is 12-14 years, while in Europe it is around 70 years!
